Download Our Old Worlds

posted Jan 12, 2013, 7:54 AM by Dave Lipowitz   [ updated Jan 12, 2013, 9:21 AM ]

I uploaded .zip files of our old worlds to my Google Drive account.  Just a heads up, when you download them, Google tells you that the files are too big to scan for viruses.  But that's OK, because they're just 100% virus-free Minecraft worlds.

Click the links below, then the "Download" button, then the "Download anyway" link after you get the virus message.

Here's the links to download the files:

Once you download the files, unzip them in your "saves" folder.  Then you should be able to see them in the single player world list.  Have fun with them!

CraftBukkit is back

posted Jan 3, 2013, 4:09 PM by Dave Lipowitz   [ updated Jan 3, 2013, 4:10 PM ]

Hey Folks,

CraftBukkit, the Minecraft plug-in manager has been patched up to 1.4.6 so a lot of the plugins are back.  That means a lot of the old commands work again.  In fact, all the survival commands listed here are working so have fun with them.

I hope to get the other worlds and commands back online soon too.  More to come!

Minecraft 1.2 Plugins

posted Mar 18, 2012, 12:15 AM by Dave Lipowitz

Hey all,

The plugins are working now in our 1.2 worlds.  Most of the commands are working too, except for the wands.  At the moment we only have the 1.2 worlds (Survival and Creative) online, but the others will be back soon.

Minecraft 1.2

posted Mar 1, 2012, 9:26 PM by Dave Lipowitz

Hey All!

Yes, it's update time once again: Minecraft 1.2 came out today with plenty of cool, new features.  (The jungle biome is amazing, as are the ocelots and the 256-block map height).

But, as usual, the update broke all our plugins.  While we wait for the Bukkit folks to fix things, we'll try out creative mode for a while.  Please remember all the old rules still apply and have fun!

The Wands Are Back

I've re-enabled the wands, otherwise known as the WorldEdit plugin.  If you need a reference, it's best to use sk89q's guide here.  Not all the commands are enabled though (see here for a list of what WorldEdit commands we're using).  Also, to prevent big mistakes, I've set the block change limit to 1000.  Let's see how it goes, and maybe I'll increase it later....

Remember, the wands are very powerful and you can cause a lot of damage unintentionally if you're not careful.  The best command of all is //undo, which let's you undo up to 30 WorldEdit commands.

The Plugins Return

Hey, the plugins are back!  No wands yet, but the arena is back as well along with many other commands.  See our commands page for an updated list of what's available.

Two New Rules

posted Jan 29, 2012, 10:09 PM by Dave Lipowitz

Hi All,

There was an ugly incident today where one player locked another player's chest, and then proceeded to steal a huge amount of treasure.  Because of that I'm implementing two new rules:
  • No stealing
  • No locking chests that aren't yours
Both of these are now bannable offenses.  Remember that LogBlock, our anti-griefing plugin, can tell who takes what out of a chest....

The Plugins Are Back (Again)

Hey All,

The plugins are working again so we have access to some basic commands now.  See here for a list of available commands.

New Rule: No Bullying

posted Jan 8, 2012, 8:09 PM by Dave Lipowitz   [ updated Jan 8, 2012, 10:26 PM ]

I want to keep the rules to a minimum on the server, but there's been a few problems between players and I think we need a new rule.  In some cases, I think these arguments crossed the line into bullying.

So no bullying allowed.  Please let me know, or have your parents let me know, if someone is calling you names or harassing you over and over again.  I will be giving out bans and emailing parents if I see this sort of thing in the future.

I want the server to be a fun place.  There's plenty of room for everyone to play, just play nice.

Chest Locks

posted Jan 2, 2012, 11:00 PM by Dave Lipowitz   [ updated Feb 22, 2012, 8:31 PM ]

Hi Folks!

People have been talking about the stealing that's been going on on the server so I've added in a new plugin called LWC (Lightweight Chest protection); it let's everyone lock 10 chests.  The plugin supports locked doors too, but I'm not allowing those at the moment: I think locked doors will encourage griefing by giving people a reason to dig around doors.

There's a complete list of LWC commands included here, but it supports private chests and password protected chests.  I strongly suggest you use the /cprivate command to create private chests, which allows the owner access without entering a password.  You can use the /cmodify command to allow others access to the chest as well.  /cpassword lets you lock a chest with a password, but if you lose the password even I can't get it back for you.  So I strongly suggest sticking with /cprivate.

That's it and I hope locked chests will cut down on the stealing.
